We are a family business founded in 1861 and based in the town of Damme, Niedersachsen. Our origins go back more than 160 years when Franz Carl Heinrich Grimme opened a forge in Damme. In 1936, his grandson Franz Grimme laid the foundations for our agricultural machinery factory and produced the first innovative products for a more efficient potato harvest. From that point on, our company grew into an international company that is active in more than 120 countries through specialized dealers and our own branches.
More than 80 years ago, the first Grimme generation started building machines for harvesting potatoes. This marked the beginning of Grimme Landmaschinenfabrik as we know it today. Based in Damme, we design and distribute high-quality agricultural machinery to 120 countries around the world. Over the years, we have grown into a complete supplier of potato, beet and vegetable technology.
In Damme there are two factories where our machines are built. The heart of our production process is located in Damme, where the machines are assembled and constructed. This is also where our development department, our high-tech parts warehouse and the “TechniCom” exhibition area are located. Outside Damme, our larger self-propelled machines are assembled in our newest factory. We also have a separate factory there for the production of sieve and conveyor belts.
